Title: Student Intern (Nashville, TN / U.S.-based)

Reports to: Executive Assistant

Start Date: Spring 2019 / Summer 2019

Position Purpose

The student intern, overseen by the Executive Assistant, will assist in maintaining all donor information, provide administrative support, help coordinate volunteers and assist in event logistics. S/he will help maintain donor systems, (which may include updating constituent records, processing donations and issuing receipts) and conduct grant and partner research. During an internship, s/he will gain experience on a variety of platforms including WordPress, Constant Contact, Evernote, Google Docs, DonorPro, and Dropbox. An ideal candidate will be someone who is interested in learning more about the daily operations of a nonprofit organization. S/he can also work with the Executive Associate to develop a project in-line with the intern’s academic interests or career goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist with mailings and correspondence to constituents
2. Provide administrative support for events and day-to-day operations of the U.S. office
3. Assist with the creation of marketing and communications materials

1. Update constituent information in database and email platforms
2. Conduct research, as needed
3. Assist with website updates
4. Assist with grant writing and research
5. Assist with coordination of logistics and planning for fundraising events, as needed
6. Assist with reports to granting partners, as needed

Position Requirements

Skills and Experience:
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills

Critical Qualities:
• Demonstrated interest in development and justice issues
• Professionalism in demeanor, written and oral communication
• Detail and task-oriented

Other Information:
• Part-time unpaid position of 15-20 hours/week for the semester. Must be willing to commit to time in office regardless of course load, or clearly communicate schedule needs in advance.
• Internship will be eligible for corresponding school credit where appropriate
